COACHING NEWS
It is official now that Dave Rund has resigned as girls basketball coach at Fergus Falls. Rund was AAA Coach of the Year. This is the third girls coach that led a team to the state tournament to step down. Earlier Len Messerschmidt at St. Francis and Lamar Detert at Rogers resigned. From the Fergus Falls Daily Journal.

Cambria-Friesland, WI girls basketball coach Frank Nehring has resigned after 18 years. From the Beaver Dam Daily Citizen.

Former JV coach Todd Gudith is taking over as girls basketball coach at Northville, MI. From the Northville Record.

Clinton girls basketball coach Bart Bartels was named Region 3, Class C Coach of the Year by the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan. From the Tecumseh Herald.

12 Michigan coaches had double duty last year with boys and girls. That number dropped by two. Johnny Jones has resigned the girls position at Lansing Everett. Willis Whitmyer of Eaton Rapids will coach only the girls next year. From WILX.

COLLEGE COACHING
Former Boston College assistant coach Erik Johnson has been named head women's basketball coach at Denver.

Former Indiana head coach Kathi Bennett has been named an assistant at Wisconsin.

ACADEMIC CHAMPS TOO
Saginaw Nouvel Catholic won the Basketball Coaches' Association of Michigan academic title in Class C. SNC won the Class C title on the floor in March. From the Saginaw News.

AWARDS
Kierah Kimbrough was named female athlete of the year at the University of North Dakota.

AG Bradford of Davenport North has been named Athlete of the year in the Quad City Times.

SEASON REVIEW
The Gophers season is reviewed and their awards listed on the Minnesota site.

UW Milwaukee passed out their awards and Traci Edwards (Menasha) was named MVP for the third straight year.
