Kirkwood 3, Americans Upset, North Tartan Crosby

KIRKWOOD ANNOUNCEMENTS
Kirkwood CC women's basketball coach Kim Muhl announced Friday that five sophomore basketball players have announced their intentions for next season.

Previously Lauren Thomas Johnson (Manchester, England) and Breann Hill (Harrisburg, PA) had signed with WNIT champion Marquette University.

On Friday, three remaining sophomores announced their plans for next season. Allie Lindemann (Champaign, IL) announced for Siena University in Loudonville,NY; Ashley Gorsh (Urbana, IA) and Rachele Monroe (Clutier, IA) both announced for the University of New Orleans.

These five sophomores were all major contributors for the Eagles back to back NJCAA Div. II championships.

COACHING AWARDS
Nate Malchow of AA State champion Sioux Falls Washington has been named Girls Basketball Coach of the Year by the South Dakota High School Coaches Association. From KELO TV.

OLYMPIC BASKETBALL
The Americans were beat by the Chinese 84-81 in Beijing in a tune up for the Olympics coming this summer. From MLive.

AAU TOURNAMENT RESULTS
North Tartan Crosby is playing in Battle for the Dimes in Appleton, WI. Today NTC went 3-0 beating, Wisconsin PC Players 16's, Wisconsin Fox Valley Hustle 16's and the Wisconsin Force 17's. Today NTC will play in the Championship, opponent is TBD. NTC's current overall record is 8-0. Here is the schedule for this tournament.

HALL OF FAME
Jayme Anderson of Janesville Parker will be inducted into the Janesville Sports Hall of Fame. In the story in the Janesville Gazette are some important reasons for her success: passion for the game, her high school coach is quoted "She knew her game and her limitations. She knew how to do the things that would make her successful."

MISS BASKETBALL
This evening the Minnesota Miss Basketball will be named. Here are the five up for the honor:
